On Monday 29 May 2023, 37 EA Coaches attended the Equestrian Queensland EA Coach Update and Professional Development Workshop in Tamborine, with the morning sessions at the Bearded Dragon and Cross Country Masterclass with Prue Barrett at Kelecyn in the afternoon. EQ Coaching Advisory Group Chair, Trudy Dougall welcomed all Coaches and presented the EQ Coach Update with Briston Toft Equestrian Queensland CEO presenting the Risk Management section and Marsh representative Nicki Stoker presenting the Insurance update. Additional professional development sessions included Coaching Clients With Learning Difficulties with Kaye Pace, Bit Fitting with Sandi-Leigh Norris, Sports Psychology with Allira Rogers and Queensland Off-The-Track (QOTT) Update with Emma Morel.
Prue Barrett's Cross Country Masterclass incorporated 2 groups, with the first group riding 60-80cm and second jumping up to 90cm. Prue focussed on building confidence at the water jump and encouraged all the riders to focus on the foundations, improving all the different combinations.
