Dressage Queensland - Star Events

Dressage Queensland wishes to clarify the information recently published in the Equestrian Queensland News and D News.

Dressage Queensland made the decision to no longer schedule 1* Events for 2022 .Their historical purpose no longer exists for the calculation of the end of year awards.

Our Clubs are continuing to run our Championship Events. We have renamed our 2* events and for 2022 we are calling them ‘Star Championships" to indicate their elevated status on our calendar.

DQ Squad Selection Scores will be taken from all Dressage Queensland Official Competitive events, including Star Championships, Australian CDIs, State Championships and National Championships. Refer to the Dressage Queensland State Squads Selection Criteria.

For 2022 Dressage Queensland has provided and will continue to provide AOR Place & Champion Rosettes at our Club's Star Championships, It is up to our Club's discretion if they wish to provide additional prizes to AOR's at their Star events.

If our Clubs wish to include separate AOR awards at their non Star Events it will continue to be the Club's responsibility to provide these awards.

We have removed the weighting on our percentages for end of year awards. This is due to both the historical reason for weighting no longer remaining, and to try and simplify the awards calculation process such that it can be generated more simply through a computer program, reducing volunteer hours.

Dressage Queensland will continue to offer AAOR Rider of Year Awards with all eligible scores counting. This award will no longer be self-nominating and will be worked out based on the results database.

We will review and revisit the impact of any changes at the end of the year to check any decisions made best serve our riders and clubs.
