Come & Try Carriage Driving 1 March 2015

Carriage driving is a wonderful sport for people and horses/ponies of all ages and abilities. Carriage drivers participate in a range of activities and disciplines from fun/novelty activities (similar to sporting), pleasure driving, show driving, endurance driving and combined driving - the carriage driving equivalent of eventing where drivers compete in three sections; dressage, cones and marathon. There is something for everyone!

After the huge success of our previous come and try day, Warwick Club is hosting another come and try day on March 1 2015.  Everyone is welcome, including people who are interested in carriage driving in general through to people who want to get seriously involved in competitive carriage driving.  There is no better opportunity to learn and get the feeling of what the FEI sport of carriage driving is all about than with Queensland's most active competition carriage driving club (and EQ club of the year finalist) at Queensland's premier purpose built carriage driving venue "Strongfield Stud"!

The day will include everything a beginner needs to know about the FEI sport of carriage driving and you will be assisted by our friendly and knowledgeable members throughout the day. There will be information sessions on carriage driving disciplines, harness, driving techniques and a huge display of recreational/training carriages as well as imported European competition carriages.  Attendees will also have plenty of time to ride on carriages to experience the disciplines of dressage, cones and marathon obstacle driving.  To top it all off, you will also get the opportunity to take the reins and drive in a safe environment and experience the unique feeling of driving a horse or pony that we all love.

Sausage sizzle lunch and drinks will be available for purchase on the day.

Cost: Participation is FREE if you don't want to ride on carriages.
If you want to ride on carriages or drive the cost is $10 for a restricted membership for the day to cover insurance or you can join the club for an annual fee of $50 ($40 for junior under 18 yrs).

What to bring:
Please bring your own equestrian helmet if you have one.  If not, you will be provided with a club one for use while on a carriage.
