EQ Membership Information for Show Horse Competitors

Some of our Queensland Show Horse Team Members may have received an email recently regarding a lapse in membership and the implications this has on nominations for the Show Horse Championships.

We would like to reassure all members that this will not impact nominations for the 2014 Championships, however this rule will be enforced for 2015.

We would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to Rule 5.4 from the Equestrian Australia National Show Horse Rules, effective 1 June 2014.

Rule 5.4.

Any horse, rider or owner that qualify to compete and the Australasian Show Horse Championships must maintain full current membership up to and including the duration of the Championships in that calendar year. If membership is not maintained they forfeit their right to compete at the Championships.

You will still receive January as a grace period for renewing membership, as per our constitution, however we MUST have all membership renewals in the EQ office by 31 January 2015 to allow members to compete in the 2015 Show Horse Championships. This means if you are mailing your renewal you must allow sufficient time for it to reach the EQ office. Alternatively you may renew online or send your renewal form to us via email or fax.

As the annual Australasian Show Horse & Rider Championships is the pinnacle event on the Show Horse calendar, please ensure your membership remains current to avoid future disappointment.
