Letter to Members re. EA Voluntary Administration

Dear Members,

We understand that members may have further questions about the Voluntary Administration process involving Equestrian Australia and particularly about the upcoming creditors meetings.

To assist members we provide the following advice;

  • Over the coming weeks the Administrators will investigate the operations and finances of EA.
  • All current members of Equestrian Queensland as of 9 June 2020 are considered creditors of EA.
  • The First Creditors meeting is being held on 19 June 2020. At this meeting creditors will vote on;
  • Whether to form a committee of inspection, and if so, who will be on the committee.
  • Whether the existing voluntary administrator should be replaced with a different voluntary administrator.
  • The Second Creditors meeting is required to be held 25 business days after the meeting on 19 June 2020.
  • A report will be prepared by the Administrator and circulated to members at least five days prior to the Second Creditors meeting about the operations and finances of EA.
  • The Second Creditors meeting is important as creditors i.e. members, will have a voice in regards to the future direction and structure of EA.
  • More information about the Second Creditors meeting and the process is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Our advice to members of Equestrian Queensland (as of 9 June, 2020);

  • We actively encourage members to be part of the creditors process and have a voice about the future direction and structure of EA.
  • We encourage members to participate in the First Creditors meeting at 10:30am Friday 19 June via Zoom by completing the Notice of Electronic Facilities for Meeting form and emailing it to [email protected] by 10:30am Thursday 18 June 2020.
  • Members do not need to submit a Proof of Debt form.  The Administrators have confirmed that all current paid up members (as of 9 June 2020) can participate in the meeting this Friday 19 June and will be admitted to vote for $1 in recognition of the unexpired portion of their annual membership.
  • If you are unable to participate in the First Creditors meeting this Friday 19 June you can to complete the Appointment of Proxy Form and return by 5:00pm Wednesday 17 June via email to [email protected] to have a member of your choice represent you in any votes i.e. who would form part of an inspection committee, if created.
  • The Board of Equestrian Queensland has nominated EQ Vice Chair Corey Keable to be a proxy delegate for EQ members should they wish to delegate a vote to a representative of EQ.  To assist members we have attached a blank sample for members to complete along with a completed sample form to guide members on how to complete the form. Please remember the completed proxy form needs to be emailed to [email protected] by 5:00pm Wednesday 17 June 2020.
