QSEC Indoor Arena Extension

The Queensland State Equestrian Centre (QSEC) at Caboolture is saddling up for a major extension after securing funding from the Queensland Government’s Local Grants and Subsidies Program.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland thanked the Queensland Government for its $544,000 investment over two years toward the construction of a covered, all-weather warm up area at QSEC.

“The new covered warm up area planned for the southern end of the existing arena will help take QSEC to the next level as the venue of choice for equestrian sport in Queensland,” Mayor Sutherland said.

“It’s the next stage in the delivery of the master plan for the Queensland State Equestrian Centre that adds a whole new level of all-weather functionality and adaptability to a complex that’s already a galloping success.”

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan said QSEC was designed to grow with its community.

“The Queensland Government’s investment in a covered, all-weather warm up arena is a vote of confidence in QSEC’s potential to deliver jobs and drive additional economic benefit for Caboolture and the Moreton Bay Region.

“QSEC is a fantastic community asset.”

“With QSEC usually booked out several months in advance, we’ve timed the start of construction of the new warm up area for October to minimise disruption to the centre’s busy calendar of events,” Cr Chippendale said.

Equestrian Queensland welcomes the facility extensions which increase the suitability to host larger Equestrian events not just at a local level but for international events as well.
