Get Started Round 4 is Now Open

Get Started is one of three funding programs that comprise the Queensland Government's Get in the Game initiative to support sport and recreation at the grassroots level. Get Started assists children and young people who can least afford, or may otherwise benefit from joining a sport or recreation club.

Get Started rounds 1, 2 and 3 were highly successful. Over 43,500 vouchers have been provided to eligible children and young people across Queensland, with 27% of them indicating they had not previously been a member of a club.

The program provides eligible children and young people aged five up to 18 with a voucher valued at up to $150 for sport or recreation club membership and/or registration fees. It should be noted that vouchers are issued on a first come first serve basis; therefore, there is no guarantee that a child or young/person will obtain a voucher.

Almost 3400 clubs are registered for the program. Clubs can apply for Get Started registration at any time. Registration is valid for the entire three year program period; therefore there is no need to register for each round.
