Majestic Maroons at the 2024 Australian Interschool Championships

We had 109 riders and 124 horses take the trip to Tamworth to represent Queensland and compete at the 2024 Marcus Oldham Australian Interschool Championships (Nationals) in Dressage, Jumping, Combined Training, Show Horse and Eventing, the pinnacle event for interschool participants. 

Queensland team members demonstrated skill, determination, passion, and team spirit during the competition. The Queensland team spirit was ever present, the support of each other was a stand out.

Queensland had some great results over the 5 days of competition, being placed:

  • Second overall team in both Primary and Secondary Show Horse
  • Third overall team in Primary Dressage 
  • Second overall team in Secondary Dressage
  • Second overall team in Secondary Combined Training
  • Third overall team in Eventing 
  • Second overall team in both Primary and Secondary Jumping
  • Dressage Trophy - Bridgette Dalmau & Bon Jovi MH 
  • Show Jumping Trophy - James Hosie & AMS Ajaccio NZPH

The Teamwork Trophy (Spirit) was also won by Queensland, congratulations to the whole Queensland Team, they made Tamworth feel like part of Queensland for the week!

The highly coveted Harry LeBherz trophy for the Overall State Team was awarded to the host state Queensland!

Thank you to the Queensland Team Manager Matt Ostwald and Chef d'Equipe Khyl Domrow for all of their hard work before and during the competition. Congratulations to Queensland Team Captains Lottie Ostwald and Bridgette Dalmau for leading their fellow competitors during the 2024 AIC.

Thank you to all Discipline Captains: Lara Roederer, Billie Lowson, Chloe Bruggemann, Zara-Jane Mead, Ella Forbes, Georgia Creed, Annabelle Rogan, Lara Crawford, Mia Nolan and Isabella Dotta, and also a huge thank you to all of the Discipline Managers:  Adele Blissett, Alex Brown, Emma Lowe, Vanessa Brown, Janie Hooper and Kirsty Ostwald. Interschool Queensland and all of the team members greatly appreciate all of the help and advice you gave throughout the event. 

Of course, our competitors wouldn't be as successful as they are without the support from their families, so we would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of the families and supporters of the team!
