EOI Biosecurity Manager
Equestrian Queensland is calling for Expressions of Interest for a motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual to join the EQ team as an additional Biosecurity Manager to assist with our expanding program.
The Biosecurity Manager’s role is to assist EQ organising committees, minimise and mitigate biosecurity risks associated with the staging of equestrian events in Queensland.
DUTIES
- Liaise with organising committee (OC) to ascertain local requirements and expectations, issues and risks;
- Prepare a Biosecurity Plan and support material such as signage and communications for each event as assigned by EQ;
- Liaise with Biosecurity Queensland, and attend venue prior to event if necessary;
- Attendance at the event to ensure plans are implemented; and
- After the event review plan and advise EQ on communications, documentation and any actions arising from the event
Candidates should have a good sound knowledge of General Biosecurity Obligations or be able to source this information quickly.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
The Biosecurity Manager is a contractor of Equestrian Queensland and entitled to work cover and professional indemnity insurance through its policy under the national insurance program. Each contractor will be required to supply an ABN.
REMUNERATION
The Biosecurity Manager will be remunerated at a daily rate with a maximum rate per event which includes travel time and costs to and from the event. Provided within the maximum event threshold, travel costs can also be claimed per kilometre. Payments are made on submission of a tax invoice in keeping with financial management of EQ weekly payment run.
