Far North Equestrian Group Volunteer Training Weekend

The Far North Equestrian Group (FNEG) in Redlynch, Cairns, hosted a successful two-day protocol clinic with Maria Schwennesen, incorporating electronic scoring for the first time. Volunteers received hands-on training with scoring tablets, gaining confidence in live scoring and improving competition efficiency, while riders benefited from receiving their test results instantly via email.

A lunchtime Q&A session at the club house discussed Equestrian Queensland Pathways and development opportunities for clubs, club members and junior riders insterested in the Interschool pathway. Additionally, Maria Schwennesen and Liz Coe presented an online Judge’s Workshop, "The Training Scale Unpacked," on Saturday evening.

Supported by Equestrian Queensland’s Sport Development Funding, the event enhanced both rider and volunteer education, with FNEG stating "The tablet training for scoring purposes was also highly beneficial, enhancing our efficiency and time saving".

It was a great opportunity to meet quite a few FNQ riders that were members of different EA affiliated clubs in the region, we had time to have a chat about their club, their personal plans for 2025 and any future challenges.
