Equestrian Australia - Special General Meeting - Submit a Proxy or Register to Attend
Equestrian Australia (EA) will hold a Special General Meeting (SGM) at 8:00 pm AEDT (7:00 pm QLD time) on Friday 15 November 2024 where members will vote on extending equal rights to Equestrian Northern Territory (ENT) members.
Currently, ENT members pay the same fees to EA as all other members but do not have voting rights on director elections, notices of motion or the ability to nominate for election to the EA Board under the EA Constitution. The proposed changes from Equestrian Queensland (EQ) would grant ENT members the same status as all other members and ENT the same status as all other branches thus supporting EA’s goal of "One Member – One Vote" following its 2020 voluntary administration.
EQ encourages all members to participate. For the SGM to proceed, at least 5% of EA’s membership (approximately 1,200 members) must participate in the SGM via submitting proxy or attending the meeting.
Participation Options:
- Submit a Proxy: Proxy forms (available below) must be emailed to [email protected] by 7:00 pm QLD time, Wednesday, 13 November 2024. Or
- Register and Attend the SGM: Register by 5:00 pm QLD time, Friday, 15 November 2024 here.
To assist members wishing to endorse the motion as proposed by EQ, a proxy form appointing EQ Chair Nicholas Ballard in favour of the motion is available via the link below.

It is also important to note that there is no ‘veto’ power for the States entrenched into the EA Constitution and the motion will require support from five of EA's six state branches to pass but will not alter the existing requirement for Constitutional amendments.
