Vale Carly-Mae Pye

Tonight the equestrian community is shattered by the premature and tragic loss of Carly-Mae Pye who died from injuries received in a fall at Callaghan Park in Rockhampton on Monday.

Carly-Mae was well known , loved and respected across the entire Australian equestrian community.

“ She was one of the hardest working people I have ever come across; a true champion equestrian who achieved so much in her short 26 years. As well as her successes in equestrian sports she rode nearly 200 winners since she began her racing career in 2006. Carly-Mae always had a smile on her face and a passion for life. She was renowned for producing young horses.  She turned up for lessons in Rockhampton on Sunday afternoon with her usual big smile and three new horses.”  David Finch EA Coach.

“ Carly-Mae epitomised the joy of riding horses, always a smile when mounted, always a friendly word for young riders. She loved competing, especially bringing on younger horses, she will be very sadly missed in Rockhampton “ said Chair of Eventing Queensland Mr Brendan Croese..

Our  sincerest condolences to Carly-Mae's family and partner Tim Cook.  She will be greatly missed by  the Equestrian and Racing Industry.

On behalf of the members, staff and board of Equestrian Queensland.
