Jumping Queensland Squad Announcement and call for Second Round Applications

Jumping Queensland and Equestrian Queensland would like to congratulate the following athlete that has met the 2022 Jumping Queensland Junior and Young Rider Squad Criteria

We congratulate Jamie, who over the course of 2021 met the performance criteria AND the requirement as it relates to the “Squad Performance Card” being signed off by an authorised official.

Reason for Squad Performance Card Implementation

1. The EA jumping results system tracks what events a horse and rider have attended and where they have placed, however, in most cases the system only captures those results from 1^st to 3^rd.  The JQ selection panel are interested in all of the data relating to the performance, not just the overall place.

2. In addition to the above, The published start height of a course may need to be lowered depending on the experience of those riders who nominate.  Therefore, the official signing the card verifies the actual course height;

3. JQ believe that the juniors and young riders of today will be in the sport for many years and becoming familiar with the officials who support the sport is important.  This gives those juniors and young riders, who may not know the EA officials, an opportunity to familiarise themselves and engage with those that deliver the sport regularly.

Second Round Applications for the Jumping Queensland Junior and Young Riders Squads have been reopened.  If you have applied previously but were unsuccessful due to not meeting the criteria, you will be required to re-apply HERE.

Selections will be based on performance results and to be eligible for consideration applicants will need to provide a commitment to adhere to the JQ Squad Card performance requirements in 2022.
