2024 Jumping Queensland State Championships Wrap
A tremendous thank you to all sponsors, trade vendors, officials, volunteers, riders, families, spectators and supporters for your contribution towards 3 fantastic days of jumping at the 2024 Jumping Queensland State Championships held from 5 October to 7 October!
The hardworking small Jumping Queensland Sub Committee were so pleased to continue to grow this event and welcomed a major increase of entries this year to return back to Maryborough Showgrounds & Equestrian Park for a second year in a row. The program included a Welcome BBQ with the inaugural Jumpers Challenge on Saturday evening which was a huge hit and lots of fun attracting 20 teams of 2 with 5 heats, semi finals and a seriously competitive final! Well done to Olivia Hewitt Toms and Simone Lily Sorensen for organising a very entertaining challenge!
Grassroot riders were provided this year with their own series including a 1st and 2nd qualifier followed by the final in the Pryde’s EasiFeed Ring 3. On Monday 7 Sept, 30 riders qualified in each final and the State Champions were awarded with their very own garlands, rugs and prizes!

The event organisers were extremely grateful to have Linda Huddy from Peachester Lodge, the major sponsor of the Peachester Lodge & It's Equestrian Ring 1 attend the event for the finals on Monday. It was wonderful to see Peachester Lodge, Linda Huddy's partnership with It’s Equestrian, Gemma Creighton Buchanan in action! Linda’s passion for her horses and their welfare is really what stands out and together with Gemma transitioning and preparing off the track horses so well, it’s no wonder they have so many horses excelling in their new careers after racing.
