EQ seeks new Sports Development Officer

Equestrian Queensland Inc (EQ) – the peak body for horse sports in this State, including the Olympic sports of Dressage, Jumping and Eventing, is seeking an individual interested in working in the sports industry in a development capacity, to undertake further development of our Club and Interschool based activities. The position will be based at the State organisations offices in Sports House South, Woolloongabba.

This is a part-time 4 days a week role, reporting directly to the CEO.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the management and development of the sports junior/interschool program as well as the provision of direction and support in relation to the sustained growth and development of the club system within our sport.

It is desirable for the successful applicant to have tertiary qualifications in sport with some experience in an administrative or similar role. Alternatively, industry experience in a similar role would be acceptable.

In addition, it is important for the successful person to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with volunteers, along with a strong knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products.

·         Relevant Tertiary Qualification

·         An understanding of equestrian sports and experience and knowledge of the sports club environment and junior pathways as it relates to sport is desired by not essential
